According to Clinton Heylin, A Life in Stolen Moments, New York, NY, 1996 (p. 135), Dylan joined John Prine onstage during Prine's Sep 9, 1972 residency at the Bitter End, performing three songs (including "Sam Stone" and "Donald and Lydia") with him.
